We are oh so passionate about brownies here at Beth Bakes, and over the years we have perfected our TOP SECRET recipe to give you what we believe to be the best brownie. So, what do we think makes the best brownie?! Keep reading to find out!
- Cracked Top TOP TIP to get the perfect ‘cracked top’ on a brownie, before we add all the other ingredients, we whisk our eggs and sugar for about 5 minutes until they’re pale yellow in colour and have doubled in size. To test you’ve got the perfect consistency, when you trace a figure of eight with your whisk it should remain on the surface for a few seconds.
- Gooey Centre TOP TIP it’s all about how long you bake it, always slightly under do a brownie as they carry on cooking when you remove them from the oven. We find 27 minutes is perfect for a standard tray bake size, you still want to see a slight wobble in the centre.
- A rich, silky chocolate flavour TOP TIP we have found the best way to achieve the most intense chocolate flavour is all down to the ingredients. We use the best quality 56% cocoa solids chocolate and a really dark, intense cocoa powder. The better quality the ingredients the better results you’ll get!
